A Place Where Nobody Dared to Go…
Cats: Personal, Movies, Music|When the lead actor of a Broadway musical goes on the record stating: “This is a really incredibly smart piece of theatre - it’s like almost the first few times you say that, you almost can’t say it without completely breaking out laughing, because you’re talking about ‘Xanadu’ - but people are just going to have to see it.” - you know the world has gone all topsy-turvy.
I don’t know what it’s going to take to bring me down from the high I’m feeling, just knowing that ‘Xanadu’ is back in the spotlight - this time, on Broadway.
Everyone who knows me well enough knows me as the biggest Xanadu fan they know. Now I’m just trying to get my brain around the need to go to New York City, to the Helen Hayes Theatre, to see a childhood dream in reality - granted, a tongue-in-cheek retelling of my childhood dream that’s been called the worst movie ever by pretty much everyone - but still, heck-freakin’-yeah!
No more words … they should have sent … a poet …

yet they closed “high fidelity.”
i’m all for “xanadu” going to broadway cause it’s awesome. what i am NOT ok with is this trend. “let’s take every bad movie/movie-musical and turn it into a show. people are dumb enough to pay for it.”
i blame “saturday night fever.”
look for “can’t stop the music” to follow suit. i’m not even lying.
i hate broadway sometimes.
