To everyone, I just wanted to share some excellent news with you all:

I found out on Wednesday that I got a big promotion that I had been working on getting for the last few months. It’s in a different department called Workforce Management where I will help oversee claims adjusters’ time cards, monitor inbound call traffic, and at times be in charge at the hub of the call center. If a hurricane hits somewhere, for example, I’ll be in contact with our other call centers and help coordinate customer service staffing. Basically, my new position is on a team that is critical to the success of the company and I’m looking forward to the new job.

Once I’m done with training (it’ll be a few weeks at least), I will be working four 10-hour shifts a week, probably Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with the rest of the week off. This will be a great schedule to complement my wife’s schedule once we adopt a baby (hopefully sometime next year) in order to minimize the need for someone else to provide childcare. We’re very close to wrapping up the adoption home study and will soon be sending out notices to everyone we know that we are looking for a baby here in the U.S. to adopt. My father is staying with us this month to help us renovate our townhouse so we can hopefully sell and move closer to work. In other news, we also recently got a little Welsh Corgi puppy named Luna. (Pictures still on their way)
